Do you know why I love cookies?because the moment they are ready in the oven the house start smelling incredible.other bakings like meat pie and chicken pie also make the house smell good, but cookies just do an incredible job, it's something I can't explain.

ShortBread Cookies Recipe

This shortbread cookie recipe is quick, easy and mouthwatering, what more,it uses only six ingredients that you probably have have in your pantry.
Some people bake for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries and holidays but I bake almost every week.if I have the ingredients and I can bake it then there isn't any reason of buying it.I don't know, but what's the use of buying something when you have the time, the energy, the ingredients and the equipments to use?I honestly don't see any reason.so yeah, that's the reason why I bake every week,if not on Saturday then I do it on Sundays, these are the days that me and my family get to spend together so I use the opportunity to bake something for all of us.

Homemade Shortbread cookie
You can actually make the dough in advance.you can store the dough for a month in the freezer and a week in the refrigerator.
Everytime I am making a dough for the cookies,I always make enough for the next time.

CAN I USE SALTED BUTTER IN PLACE OF UNSALTED BUTTER?
Definitely!!.you can use salted butter.just make sure that you don't add salt to your ingredients since the butter already has salt or you can add just a pinch of salt

How to make shortbread cookies

The cookies will start to change color on the bottom.please note that cookies are only baked for a few minutes.don't burn them in the process of waiting for them to change color.if you are making cookies for the first time then continue to ready so that you know how long they are baked.
TIP: another way of knowing that cookies are ready is the change of smell in the house from regular to extraordinary.

HOW TO FREEZE CLASSIC SHORTBREAD COOKIES

These shortbread cookies can be stored for up to 3 months in a refrigerator.to freeze just place the shortbread cookies in a plastic wrap or an airtight container.

TIP 3:
You can do a lot of things with shortbread cookies.you can turn them to a shortbread and peanut butter sandwiches by filling them with peanut butter.you can also turn them into thumbprint cookie by applying some jam.Do you love Jam recipes? Then you'll definitely love these Jam Tart Recipe You can also dip them into chocolate before eating them. You won't want to miss this chocolate recipe Brownies Recipe
There are a lot of tricks you can do,these are just a few of them.
Turning ordinary cookies into extraordinary cookies is what differentiate a great baker from a regular baker.

LET THE FUN BEGIN
Do you know the fan part about making cookies and Biscuits? it's the cutting, yes the cutting baby.
I use a cookie cutter, you can always find something in the kitchen to use to cut the cookies in case you don't have the cookie cutter.
Back to what I was saying.
The fun part about making cookies is that you make one dough but you make different shaped cookies. When you have kids, they'll be like "I'll have the fish, and the butterfly and the others" that's the power of cutting cookies.even when it's the same ingredients kids will always love the shapes they see.

Once again these cookies are quick, easy, buttery and crisp.
If you don't like a lot of butter then you can make cookies using milk or water and 2 tablespoon of butter or 2 tablespoon of cooking oil.but that's another topic for another blog post.
