Unfortunately I don't make waffles every week because I work full time during weekdays, I get to have full rest on weekends and holidays, and every time I get an opportunity to be at home the whole day, I try my best to experiment with different recipes, so that I get the most out of my ingredients. If I had my way I would be making these waffles every weekend.
Kids are not great eaters especially when they are below 5 years but believe me even the kid with the most bad appetite will love these waffles.

These are classic waffles, not Belgian waffles. They are simpler and less deep. You do not need to worry about separating egg whites from the eggs, just mix everything and you are ready to make your waffles.

Not sure if waffles can be made without a waffle machine, perhaps they would turn into pancakes. Haha.
The good thing about these waffles is that they can be made in batches then they can later be stored in a freezer. You do not have to worry about waffles losing their taste after freezing them, they'll still taste as delicious.

WAFFLES INGREDIENTS

Flour: All purpose flour is my go to flour for this recipe, but you can try other flour like whole wheat flour.

Baking Powder: Baking powder helps waffles brown and rise.

Sugar: Use castor sugar, granulated sugar or brown sugar for the sweet waffle flavor. I only used 5 tablespoons of sugar because I had poured maple syrup on the waffle.

Milk: I used sour milk. A substitute for sour milk is fresh milk or buttermilk.

Butter: Butter and milk are the oil components for this recipe. You can substitute butter for vegetable oil, avocado oil, extra virgin olive oil etc.

Salt: This ingredients adds to the wonderful flavor.

Vanilla Essence: nothing beats vanilla essence when it comes to providing a taste and delicious flavor.

Eggs: eggs provide tenderness.

The Belgian waffle batter is also made with only egg white instead of using an egg like I have done with these regular waffles

  7. This recipe is very similar to my favorite recipe! And there are so many things you can do with waffles. I used to do a waffle bar with my kids. It had syrup, fruit, cherry pie filling, whipped cream, nuts, and chocolate chips. They could put whatever they wanted on it. They loved it!
